Renowned actress Priyanka Chopra has made every Indian proud and there is no denying that.  After establishing herself as the leading actress in Bollywood, Priyanka moved to Bollywood and put India on the global map. However, the actress is now opening up about the real reason why she left Bollywood and decided to try her luck in the west.

Chopra revealed she was being cornered by some people in the industry and that’s when her manager Anjula Acharia came to her rescue. Acharia saw Priyanka in a music video that went viral throughout the whole world and realized that the Diva had the potential to make it big in the West.

She called Priyanka and asked if she would be interested in building a career in music in the US. Although Priyanka was initially hesitant, she eventually made up her mind to explore opportunities in Hollywood.

In a conversation with Dax Shepherd on his podcast Armchair Expert, Priyanka said,

“I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break.”

She added,

“This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave the movies I didn’t want to get but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require groveling and I had worked a long time by then that I didn’t feel like I wanted to do it.”

Priyanka stepped into Hollywood with the television series Quantico, which premiered in 2015. She played the lead role of Alex Parrish, an FBI agent, in the show. Quantico was a huge success and earned Priyanka critical acclaim and a massive fan following in the US. She is currently gearing up for the release of Russo Brothers, Citadel.
