When Shah Rukh Khan got a film journalist dropped home late at night, “Don’t worry, I’ll send my car..."

Shah Rukh Khan is one of the biggest superstars in the country, who is not only known for his talent, but his generosity towards not only industry peers, but people from other walks of life too.

In a recent interview, journalist Roshmila Bhattacharya shared a touching story about how Shah Rukh helped her during a challenging moment.
In conversation with the YouTube channel Inconversation with Ishan, Roshmila recounted an experience from the 90s when she was interviewing Shah Rukh Khan.

The interview ran so late that she missed her last bus home. She explained, “I used to live in Vashi, and back then, there were no local trains to Vashi—only buses, with the last one leaving at 11:30 pm. I was stuck at Film City, and since there were no mobile phones at the time, my husband was waiting for me at home.”

Roshmila remembered that Shah Rukh was filming at Film City and was continuing their interview in between takes. She was 24 or 25 years old at the time and was on the verge of tears. When Shah Rukh noticed her distress, he asked what was wrong. She explained that she had missed her last bus and was unsure of where she would spend the night. Taxis to Vashi were nearly impossible to find in those days.
Concerned, Shah Rukh immediately offered to help. He said, “Don’t worry, I’ll send my car.” When Roshmila expressed her concern about the long drive to Vashi, he assured her, “Yes, the

car will drop you there. Just have my driver call me when he gets to Vashi so I can tell him whether to return here or go home.”

Roshmila laughed as she recalled asking Shah Rukh, “But how will you get back?” He replied, “Don’t worry, someone will take me.” True to his word, the car made the journey to Vashi and safely dropped her off.
Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in The King, which also stars Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, and is directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
