Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh’s baby is set to arrive towards the end of September. The first film she’ll shoot for post her maternity leave is a magnum opus.

After much speculation, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh finally announced their pregnancy in February this year. Taking to Instagram, the much-loved couple shared that their baby will arrive in September 2024. The post met with a lot of love from their industry peers including Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Vikrant Massey, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, among many others. Through the past few months, Deepika’s public appearances where she’s flaunting her baby bump have been going viral. She has also been grabbing attention for setting chic maternity fashion goals.

And now, News18 Showsha has an exclusive update for DeepVeer fans. We’ve learned the date Kalki 2898 AD and Pathaan star is set to welcome her little bundle of joy. A little birdie tells us, “Deepika and Ranveer are eagerly waiting for the upcoming chapter of their lives and are busy setting up a space for their baby. If things go as per plans, she will deliver the baby on September 28 at a hospital in South Bombay. At present, the soon-to-be mother is enjoying every bit of the break that she has taken from work.” This also negates the conjectures that she’ll be giving birth in London.

We’ve also learned that Deepika plans on resuming work in 2025 and would like to dedicate the next few months to her newborn. “Her maternity leave will last till March of next year. And after that, she’ll immediately get busy with filming the sequel of Kalki along with Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Prabhas,” the source adds. On Friday (August 30), we exclusively reported that Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2 will get on floors in January-February 2025. And next year, she also plans on beginning work on The Intern co-starring Big B.

Rumours of Deepika and Ranveer having a baby boy have been circulating for some time and a recent social media post further fueled these speculations. A gifting brand shared a photo of some adorable presents, ordered by Deepika, on its official Instagram handle. The image featured beautifully wrapped gift boxes with a tag indicating that it was for Deepika. The boxes were wrapped in minimalist brown paper with a light blue string tied in a neat bow. Attached to the string were several charming ceramic hangings, including shapes like fish, stars, and circles, all in shades of blue and white.

In January this year, Deepika spoke to Vogue Singapore about embracing parenthood. She said, “Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family… My family keeps me grounded and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children.” On a related note, the couple – after dating for six years – tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in 2018 at Lake Como, Italy.
