Delhi woman lands at Salman Khan’s Panvel home to ‘wed him’

NAVI MUMBAI: A 24-year-old Delhi-based woman, a die-hard fan of actor Salman Khan, recently landed outside the actor’s farmhouse in Panvel taluka and created a ruckus, demanding she be allowed to meet the superstar.

While the actor was not present at his Panvel property, some local villagers at Vaje video recorded the incident in which the woman was seen repeatedly saying that she wanted to marry the actor.

They also informed the Panvel taluka police station.

The cops first detained the woman, and later took her to the New Panvel-based NGO, Social and Evangelical Association for Love (SEAL), for further counselling.

SEAL founder, pastor K M Philip, told TOI, “The Delhi woman was brought to our shelter home on May 22, and we found her condition quite serious, as she refused to listen to us, and kept saying she wanted to marry Khan. She was fully in love with his screen image.”

Philip added, “We admitted her to MGM hospital in Kalamboli for psychiatric treatment and also called her mother there from Delhi. The family was quite worried as the woman had travelled alone from Delhi to Navi Mumbai to “marry” Salman.” After eight days of treatment, along with psychological counselling, the woman is ready to go back to her home in Delhi.

“I have been watching Salman films since childhood, and innocently thought I could marry him. Now, after coming to Panvel and undergoing all this (treatment), I have realised that I was wrong. He (Salman) is living his own life, and is not the same as what he does in films,” the woman told SEAL volunteers on Saturday.

Incidentally, on May 22, SEAL had flagged off four ambulances, along with the Panvel division police, in order to rescue maximum number of homeless people before the start of monsoon. So far, 63 homeless persons have been rescued, but one of them, a TB patient, succumbed to his ailment.
