Govinda Claims His Twitter Was Hacked By People With 'Agenda'; Says 'Suffered Enough Professionally'

Bollywood actor Govinda has found himself at the centre of a storm after a recent tweet from his Twitter account stirred controversy. The actor, is now asserting that he had no part in the tweet that addressed the ongoing violence in Haryana. Govinda is attributing the post to a hack, hinting at a possible conspiracy against him. The incident has fueled speculation and brought attention back to the actor’s political past.

Govinda, who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from 2004 to 2009 under the banner of the Indian National Congress, has been candid in expressing his disbelief over the tweet in question. In an interview with The Times of India, he stated that his account was ‘hacked’ and that he plans to escalate the matter to the ‘Cyber Crime Police’.

The tweet in question, which was seemingly a reaction to a video of mob violence in Haryana, read, “What have we come down to? Shame on the people who call themselves Hindus and do such things. Aman aur shanti banaye, hum democracy hai, autocracy nahi!” Following the tweet and subsequent mass trolling, Govinda’s Twitter account was deleted.

Offering further clarity on the situation, Govinda took to Instagram to release a video message. In the video, he firmly disassociated himself from the controversial tweet, stating, “Please do not attribute this Haryana tweet to me. I haven’t done this. Somebody has hacked my account. I am just doing a complaint to cyber-crime now. I’ll look into the matter.”

During the TOI interview, Govinda also touched upon his past struggles in the film industry. He suggested that he has been a target of professional conspiracies, leading to challenges in the release of his movies in certain regions and hindering his career prospects. The actor hinted at jealousy as a potential motive behind such actions, stating, “Maybe people are jealous of the love I receive.” He added that he has ‘suffered enough’ and would like for people to keep him out of their ‘politics and agendas’.
