“I am a hard worker so when I go on vacation, I want to rest hard too,” said the Indian star.

According to Travel and Leisure , Priyanka Chopra Jonas likes to do everything in her own style, including her trips, which are always accompanied by sophistication. Miss World 2000 has accumulated a lot of experience in the past 5 years, after a long time of being a “workaholic”.

“It took me about 20 years of working to realize that vacations are an important part of healing, restoring yourself, feeling and recharging. I make sure my vacations are dreamy because I work hard, so when I go on vacation, I want to rest hard,” said the 40-year-old actress and producer.

Now, she wants to convey the message to everyone: Be the main actor in your own vacation.

For Chopra, her dream getaways don’t involve a specific location, but rather depend on her mood.

“I’m an ocean girl. You can take me anywhere by the ocean and I love it,” singer Nick Jonas’ wife shared.

If she had to choose, Turks and Caicos and Fiji top Chopra’s list of places to visit. Cabo San Lucas, Goa, India, Portofino and Italy are also her favorites.

Travel has long been a part of the actress’s life. Her family used to take month-long summer vacations across India, hopping from city to city, driving along rivers and through the Himalayas to places like Kashmir.

And she always had a very special seat – in the trunk of her car. “With cushions and blankets, my dad would make it my secret place. I didn’t realise until I was much older that it was basically just giving him an extra seat for someone else. But it was magical to me. It was my special castle, created just for me,” the Indian beauty said.

To this day, Priyanka Chopra still enjoys her travels when they don’t go as planned. “I’m the type of person who keeps things calm. I’ll read, walk around, or find some form of entertainment. My imagination is my best friend,” she says.

In fact, the beauty queen has found some of her most special moments to be the ones that weren’t part of her travel plans. “I believe the beauty of travel is going with an open mind and not always having to plan everything out, just allowing it to be a vacation. That’s who I am. My mother and my husband are very different, but I believe you’re a nomad when you travel,” Chopra shared.

That includes cherishing her alone time, especially when she has the chance to explore the city on her own.

“My job takes me to many amazing places around the world and I always try to find time to experience local life and cuisine. How your feet feel on the ground in a new city is a completely different experience,” she said.

While solo travel can be scary, the star still finds joy in just wandering, like in Prague — where she stumbled upon new bridges — and in Paris — where she observed artists and musicians at work.

The pandemic has restricted Priyanka Chopra’s travel, and there’s nowhere she’d rather be than her hometown — a place she hasn’t been in two years.

“Each region in India has its own written and spoken language, which means different alphabets, clothes, costumes, food and holidays. So it’s like coming to a new country every time you cross the border in India. Every time I go back home, I take time to go on a vacation,” Miss World 2000 confided.

Priyanka Chopra’s upcoming travels will change a bit as she turns 40: “This is a really life-changing year for me. It’s the next decade of my life. I don’t know what I’m going to do yet, because my husband and I have planned each other’s birthdays, but I know what kind of state I want to be in.”

“I’m curious about where my career will take me, where my life will take me. I’m at a place where I feel like I’m on the brink of change and I’m ready to accept it and embrace it,” Priyanka Chopra added.
