Vijay Varma Apologises To Pooja Gor For Stepping On Her Saree, Fans Call Him A ‘Gentleman’
Recently, the team gathered for a press conference and Vijay Varma shared a light-hearted fun moment with his co-star Pooja Gor. The actor had accidentally stepped on her saree and later apologised for the same.
Several videos from the press conference for IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack has surfaced on the internet. In one of the clips, Vijay Varma was posing for the camera when he accidently stepped on Pooja Gor’s saree, who was passing behind him. When the actress pointed out the same, he instantly stepped aside and folded his hands in apology. This made both of them chuckle. Pooja Gor played the role of the captain’s wife in the series.
Netizens praised him for his respectful act. Some stated he was, “Such a gentleman,” while another stated, “He’s a sweetheart.” Along with Vijay Varma and Pooja Gor, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack stars Pankaj Kapur, Dia Mirza, Naseeruddin Shah, Kumud Mishra, Amrita Puri and others. The series, directed by Anubhav Sinha, is currently streaming on Netflix.
After the release, Vijay Varma penned a note of gratitude for his director, Anubhav Sinha, along with the real Captain Devi Sharan for the courage he showed. He shared snaps with the director and the real captain, and wrote, “Only Captains….Thank you Anubhav Sinhaa sir for being the best captain of the ship(director) and for giving me the opportunity to play Captain Devi Sharan. Both the captains have called and given me a lot of love for the portrayal.. and so has the audience, peers and friends. Blessed and how!“Apne kaam se jab pyaar ho na.. toh kaam nahi dikhta, zimmedari dikhti hai.”
IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack is based on genuine events that occurred during the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814. On December 24, an aircraft from Kathmandu to Delhi was hijacked and landed in Taliban-controlled territory in Kandahar, Afghanistan, where it remained for a week until December 31. The six-episode miniseries is based on Captain Devi Sharan and Srinjoy Chowdhury’s book Flight into Fear: A Captain’s Story.
