Sharvari is basking in the success of her last two films — Maharaj with Junaid Khan and Munjya, the horror comedy from Maddock. She says the “overwhelming” feeling of having two films running simultaneously in cinemas and on an OTT platform is yet to sink in. The actress will next be seen sharing the screen with Alian Bhatt in Yash Raj Film’s next Spy Universe movie Alpha, where the two of them are set to play secret agents.

“It’s an overwhelming feeling,” confesses Sharvari whose first two films, in her acting career, were declared hits and received critical acclaim from film critics. She says, “It is very rare that you can achieve this across platforms. I had a film running in the theatres and a film on Netflix so I reached a lot of people, I could showcase my talent to a lot of people. It is a blessing and I am yet to sink in this feeling.”

Sharvari gives an update on Alpha, her film with Alia Bhatt to be helmed by Shiv Rawail of the The Railway Men fame. When asked how the shooting of the film with Alia and Shiv is going on, Sharvari reveals, “I haven’t started my shoot as yet but the prep has been incredible. To be able to collaborate with Alia Bhatt who is the country’s favourite star and my personal favourite (is a big opportunity). I think you get to learn so much from the person that she is and the artist that she is. I truly feel I am so blessed to be in the same room as Alia Bhatt because I can be a student and it’s going to be a masterclass on acting. It’s going to be incredible.”

Talking about being directed by Shiv Rawail, she adds, “The Railway Men has been an outstanding show. He comes in with new and fresh ideas and I am so excited to collaborate with someone like him because he is hearing you out. I am honestly having the best time of my life prepping for the film.”

With Alpha, Sharvari and Alia will join the spy-verse, which already boasts of blockbuster titles such as Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan as well as the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Tiger and Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War franchises. “It is an action film. It is a film where you see two women doing action and it is definitely something new. It’s the kind of cinema which we are trying to build for the first time and that’s a lot of responsibility,” she says.

Talking about how she and Alia are preparing for the film, she shares, “So I am into action training every single day. I have been training for a very long time and now closer to shoot, the training is even more hardcore and extreme. It’s a challenge and I love a good challenge, it’s exciting. I think my prep, of course apart from action, goes into a lot of sitting with the script and being able to constantly think about my character, constant thinking about the film.”
