Actor Vicky Kaushal, who is currently busy promoting his film Bad Newz and captivating the internet with his dance moves in the song “Tauba Tauaba,” recently shared some adorable pictures of himself and his wife, Katrina Kaif, celebrating her 41st birthday. In a recent interview with Raj Shamani, the actor reminisced about their first encounter, which occurred at an award show where he proposed to her on stage as part of a scripted performance. Reflecting on their journey, he described their relationship as one that was “meant to be.” When asked if he was nervous when he met Katrina for the first time, he said, “No, I wasn’t!”

He continued, “We met at an award. I was hosting the event. We met backstage before appearing on the stage. That was the first time I introduced myself to her and she introduced herself to me.”

Vicky got candid about how their relationship blossomed as they didn’t really “plan” to date each other.

“First few times, nothing was planned ki hum milne ka plan kar rahe hain ya hum baat kar rahe hain (Initially we didn’t plan our meetings). The first time we ever spoke to each other was a part of an interview while the cameras were rolling. Of course, we had each other’s number and we would randomly bump into each other. Aisa kuch nahin tha. I think, some things are just meant to happen. Sometimes you realise that it is happening against all odds and that’s how it happened. After a point we stopped questioning and analysing it, and became committed to it,” he recalled.

The couple tied the knot in 2021. The Masaan actor recently put the rumours of Katrina’s pregnancy to rest during a press interaction in Delhi, clarifying the couple isn’t expecting their first child.

He highlighted the contrast in their temperaments, with himself being the more rational and logical one, while Katrina approaches situations with a deep sense of emotion. Vicky expressed his admiration for Katrina’s emotional intelligence, emphasising how much he trusts her intuitive understanding of situations.

“When angry or sad, I need isolation and process these emotions in solitude and rationally think about it. However, when it comes to Katrina, I don’t take the same approach,” said Vicky. “We both can’t sleep if we have had a fight or argument. She wants to engage. That’s naturally her style, and mine is completely opposite, which is why I feel we beautifully fill each other’s gaps. I am the most rational guy and she is the most sensitive person. Her emotional intelligence is amazing. Wo bahot khatarnak hai and I always trust on that aur mera bahot katttar practical, rational dimag hai,” he added.

Vicky believes that their differing perspectives and temperaments are what make their relationship complete, as they balance and complement each other. “If we are having a disagreement, we have two different perspectives. My perspective will be logical, and hers is emotional-based. It sometimes helps to be completely different in that sense. Blame karke kya jeet gaya? Theek hai you’re right and I am wrong. As a couple ab tabhi jeet te ho jab aap haans khel rahe ho. Victory mein koi shanti nahin milegi (there is no peace in winning by blaming someone),” he stressed.
