SS Rajamouli Wanted To Direct Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Cried After Reading The Script

Ahead of Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2, titled Pawan Putra Bhaijaan, writer K Vijayendra Prasad has revealed his son SS Rajamouli wanted to direct the Salman Khan starrer movie.

The emotional ending of Bajrangi Bhaijaan had made many people cry, but did you know, SS Rajamouli – the director of magnump opus Baahubali and RRR — also had tears rolling down his cheeks after reading the script of the Salman Khan starrer movie. His father K Vijayendra Prasad who is now writing the sequel of the movie revealed the same.

K Vijayendra Prasad, who also penned down the script of Baahubali, had written the original film. Before giving away the scrip, he asked his son SS Rajamouli if he wanted to direct this one. When Rajamouli read the script, he got emotional reading the script. But didn’t he direct the movi himself?

K Vijayendra Prasad told Pinkvilla, “Before I was about to commit the story to Salman Bhai, I narrated it to my son and tears started rolling from his eyes. I asked if I should keep the story for him, but he asked me to give it away. Once the film was released, he came to me and said ‘Papa, you asked me at the wrong time. I was shooting the climax of Baahubali 1 and it was a jittery situation then. Had you asked me 10 days before or later, I would have directed the film'”.

After the release of the movie, SS Rajamouli had praised Salman Khan.

“Bajrangi proves that salman the human being is bigger than salmankhan the star. It takes oodles of selfconfidence for an actor to take a Back seat and let the story be the driver. I salute @BeingSalmanKhan and little harshaali is a show stealer..” he wrote on social media.

 

Prasad also revealed that he is penning down the script of the Bajrangi Bhaijaan sequel titled Pawan Putra Bhaijaan.

Without revealing many details, he just said that the story will take eight to 10-year leap. Will Harshaali Malhotra reprise her role as Munni? Only time will tell.
