Remo D’Souza recently opened up about his heart attack in 2020, calling it a terrifying experience due to a ‘100 percent blockage.’ The choreographer and director, who underwent angiography at Kokilaben Hospital, shared his gratitude toward Salman Khan, who stayed in constant contact with his wife Lizelle D’Souza throughout the entire ordeal.

In a podcast with Mukesh Chhabra, Remo revealed, “Salman was the main person, who was constantly with my wife on the phone, from the time I went inside the operation theatre to the time I came out, in the ICU and on the bed.

He was there throughout on the call. There’s a reason why he is so loved. He has (a golden heart).”

Remo recounted the events leading up to the heart attack, explaining how he had planned to attend an episode of Bigg Boss that evening. While at the gym, he started feeling unwell, but didn’t take it seriously at first. After some stretching, the pain didn’t go away, and he began to feel nauseous. His wife suggested they go to the hospital, and he agreed. “When I reached the hospital, the doctor told me I have 100 percent blockage, it was a major heart attack,” Remo shared.

While Lizelle was extremely distressed and broke down hearing the doctor, Remo admitted that he found it hard to believe, even laughing at the idea of having a heart attack since he was such a fitness enthusiast. “The doctor said it is because I am fit that I could walk and come, anyone else would have not made it here at all. It was scary. May lord not show even my enemy what I felt,” he added.

Remo, who directed Salman in Race 3, last directed Street Dancer 3D starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, released in 2020. His next project, Be Happy, featuring Abhishek Bachchan, is set to hit the screens soon. The film is a story about a single father. The movie also stars Nora Fatehi.
